Description

Welcome to the Heart of Sicily.

The Casa del Poeta, formerly known as the Villa Grimaldi, was the summer retreat for the eponymous 19th century Ennese aristocratic family, built in traditional Sicilian style, with high ceilings, large rooms and a cellar carved into the rock. The villa is nestled between centuries-old cypresses and is a stone’s throw from the town of Enna, or walking distance to Pergusa Lake.

We've given the nineteenth century Villa Grimaldi a new heart as the Casa del Poeta; a home for poets, writers, artists and other refined travellers.

The interior design is crisp, elegant and modern with whitewashed walls and hints of prune. The restoration was designed to place a strong emphasis on books, the real stars of the villa. There are large communal areas designed to encourage reading, writing or listening to music. And each room has unique style and design elements, including; a headboard with pages of poetry, mirrors and ceilings that you can read, a lampshade that inspires writers, a room with art books, and countless bookshelves and small libraries.

Guests will meet poets, writers and other passionate travellers from a range of countries, cultivating deep conversations, and special friendships.

There are often events, book launches, poetry readings and storytelling under the olive groves, as well as an annual poetry prize.

All of this is possible during your stay at the Casa del Poeta.
