Description

Welcome to the Heart of Sicily.

Bannata” comes from the Arabic for “land kissed by the sun” and was the childhood home of founder Nietta Bruno.

Built as a working farm in 1780, Bannata has been handed down through generations, and has been meticulously restored to preserve the rich heritage of the architecture, food and culture of the region.

Our rooms are designed around the original features of the farm and preserve the character and history of a family lineage which stretches back to holy Roman Emperor, King Charlemagne.

Our cuisine is seasonal and draws straight from the aristocratic and farming traditions of the hinterland. Our farm produces almost everything that we serve, including olive oil, vegetables, herbs, nuts and honey.

We are located in the province of Enna, which is the highest region in Italy, and have over 125 hectares of land that you can explore. We are located a short drive from breathtaking historical sites such as the Villa Romana del Casale, Morgantina and Villaggio Bizantino “Canalotto”.

Bannata is a family home as much as an Agriturismo, so care and hospitality are at the heart of everything we do. We have been awarded “Cinque girasoli” and “Quattro spighe”, the highest possible rating for an Agriturismo in Sicily.
